Senior Technical Program Manager , AWS Organizations

Description

We are looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager to tackle complex and ambiguous problems that span numerous systems and organizations across AMG's portfolio. You will be a highly visible leader who owns the communication, coordination, and execution of multi-year program vision across AWS Organizations, Accounts, and Control Tower.
You will work with senior product and engineering leaders to define strategy and requirements. You will design, coordinate, and execute technical solutions that scale globally across AWS's multi-account and governance ecosystem. Managing numerous complex systems and cross-service integrations, you will make appropriate trade-offs between business and technical constraints, clearly communicate goals, roles, and responsibilities. Working cross-functionally, you will identify and secure commitment from tech teams across AWS for new initiatives, driving consensus on the technical approach.
The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded technical background and a history of leading large programs end-to-end. They will own efforts to coordinate and unify roadmaps and technical direction across multiple complex governance and account management systems. They will identify opportunities to converge overlapping technical efforts and drive long-term strategy across AMG's three pillars. Maturity, high-level judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent, and leadership are essential to success.

About the team
AWS Accounts Management & Governance (AMG) provides the foundation for how customers set up, secure, and scale their AWS environments. AWS Accounts offers a fast, simple entry point to the cloud. AWS Organizations delivers consistent governance and security across accounts at any scale. AWS Control Tower enforces best practices through an automated, opinionated landing zone from day one.
Together, these services help customers securely govern and manage their multi-account environments — growing with confidence that their infrastructure is secure by default and fully aligned with their security and compliance requirements. For internal AWS services, AMG provides the core primitives that enable multi-account and multi-organization service delivery across the AWS ecosystem. We continue to invest across three pillars: security and compliance, scaling, and ease of use.

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of technical program management experience
- Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills — ability to clearly communicate high-level strategy as well as technical details
- Expertise with AI/ML-assisted development workflows and agentic automation.
- Experience driving technical strategy and architecture decisions, especially for large-scale distributed systems
- Experience collaborating with product, engineering, and non-technical partners
- Prior experience working on large cross-org programs with extensive technical deep-dive skills
- Track record for delivering quality products on time

Preferred Qualifications

- Master's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
- Experience working with a diverse team of engineers, product managers, scientists, and senior leaders
- Experience in non-technical aspects including business analysis (e.g., SQL) and process optimization
- Experience with agile/iterative development and program management methodologies
- Demonstrated passion for understanding ambiguous, complex problems and driving high-quality, innovative, and robust technical solutions
- Knowledge of software engineering best practices including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
