Kennedy Krieger Institute is seeking a compassionate and clinically focused Social Worker II to join the Center for Child and Family Traumatic Stress . This is an opportunity for a social worker who is passionate about helping children and families heal, strengthen relationships, and move forward following traumatic experiences.

The Social Worker II serves as a therapist, under the guidance of a supervising licensed clinician, providing services to children who have experienced or may be at risk for trauma related to physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, domestic and community violence, and adverse social conditions .

Using information gathered through interdisciplinary evaluation and diagnostic interviews, the Social Worker II develops and implements individualized treatment plans that address the psychological and social needs of children and their families.

What You'll Do

- Provide individual, family, and/or group psychotherapy services to children and their families.

- Participate in interdisciplinary staffing to integrate evaluation findings and develop comprehensive treatment plans.

- Collaborate with referring agencies to support service planning for children and families when indicated.

- Partner with school systems to help ensure children receive appropriate educational services when needed.

- Participate in peer consultation and individual supervision to support clinical practice and professional growth.

- Attend clinical training, treatment-planning meetings, and administrative meetings.

- Maintain required levels of client activity.

- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation, including diagnostic interviews, treatment plans, weekly progress notes, periodic reviews, and termination summaries.

- Provide developmentally appropriate services to children and adolescents, including individuals with and without developmental disabilities, and support their families.

What You'll Bring

Education

- Master's degree from an accredited School of Social Work required.

Licensure & Certification

- Licensure as a Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) through the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners required.

- Current CPR certification required.

Experience

- Experience providing services to children with developmental and emotional disturbances preferred.
