What You Will Do

The Quality Engineer is responsible for leading and driving quality excellence across sheet metal and coil manufacturing operations. This role serves as a key resource for quality improvement initiatives, ensuring products consistently meet customer requirements while supporting business objectives related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

The Quality Engineer will collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders, analyze quality performance data, identify improvement opportunities, lead root cause investigations, and implement corrective and preventive actions.

How You Will Do It

- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes for AHU  fabrication and assembly operations.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to ensure products meet dimensional and quality standards.
- Perform first article inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections of sheet metal components and/or coil assemblies.
- Utilize precision measurement equipment, including calipers, micrometers, and height gauges to verify product conformance.
- Investigate nonconforming material, identify root causes of defects, and coordinate corrective and preventive actions.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to improve product quality and process performance.
- Create and maintain inspection plans, control plans, work instructions, and quality documentation.
- Monitor production quality metrics and analyze trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Support supplier quality activities, including supplier evaluations, audits, and corrective action follow-up.
- Conduct internal audits and support customer and third-party audits to ensure compliance with quality management system requirements.
- Apply quality tools such as A3 PST, 8D, 5-Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagrams, SPC, PFMEA, and MSA to drive process improvements.
- Verify compliance with applicable industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in new product introduction activities, including process reviews, risk assessments, and production readiness evaluations.
- Work closely with production personnel to resolve quality concerns and implement effective containment actions.
- Ensure inspection equipment remains compliant and operational.
- Prepare and present quality reports, inspection findings, and corrective action status updates to management and customers.
- Promote a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence throughout the organization.

What We Look For

Required

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 1+ years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably low-volume/high-mix production. Position level and responsibilities may be adjusted based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
- Knowledge of quality systems and standards, such as ISO 9001 requirements.
- Experience with quality methodologies including APQP, FMEA, CAPA, NCR, deviation management, and structured problem solving.
- Experience conducting root cause analysis and cross-functional corrective action.
- Strong mechanical and analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or equivalent statistical and reporting tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven success interacting with customers, suppliers, and leadership teams.
- Ability to travel up to 25% as required to support customer visits, supplier audits, and field investigations.

Preferred

- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent certification.
- Experience with manufacturing quality engineering, root cause analysis, Toyota A3 methodology, APQP.
- Experience within HVAC, industrial equipment, or engineered-to-order manufacturing environments.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $76,000-105,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
