The AWS Startups team builds innovative products and platforms that support startup customers throughout their journey, from initial onboarding and credit programs to AI-powered guidance and scale solutions. Our portfolio includes products serving hundreds of thousands of startup customers globally, and we partner with business development, field marketing, and solutions architecture teams worldwide.
We are seeking a Senior Product Manager - Technical (External Services) to own product-led growth for AWS Startup Advisor. AWS Startup Advisor is an AI-powered service that brings AWS expertise directly into the developer tools founders already use, including Claude Code, Kiro, VS Code, and Cursor. It helps startups scaffold their architecture, set up their accounts, manage cost and credits, and act on proactive recommendations as they grow. Thousands of builders have adopted it since launch. You will turn that early traction into a durable, self-sustaining growth engine by owning the full funnel from discovery and install through activation, retention, and AWS adoption.
This is a high-ownership, high-impact role at the intersection of generative AI, developer tools, and growth. You will own both the growth strategy and the external service delivery: shaping onboarding experiences, distribution channels, telemetry, experimentation, and growth loops for a live, customer-facing AWS product.
Key job responsibilities
- Own the product-led growth strategy and roadmap for an externally-facing AI-powered service. Define the growth model, north-star and input metrics, and a prioritized portfolio of growth bets.
- Drive activation and retention. Shorten time-to-value from install to first meaningful outcome, and design onboarding, in-product guidance, and re-engagement mechanisms that turn first-time users into active weekly builders.
- Build growth loops into the product, including referral and sharing mechanics, community- and Solutions Architect-contributed skills, and integrations that make the product spread through the builder community.
- Own distribution across developer ecosystems. Define requirements and partnerships for IDE marketplaces, plugin registries, and open-source repositories, and meet builders where they work.
- Make data the operating system. Partner with Engineering and Data Science to define telemetry, funnel instrumentation, cohort retention, and attribution, and run a regular cadence of A/B experiments and staged rollouts.
- Connect self-serve growth with assisted motions. Partner with field marketing, business development, and solutions architecture teams globally so product-led signals reach the right field teams at the right moment.
- Drive product discussions with executives (technical and non-technical). Write business proposals, growth narratives, and operational reviews.

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of working as a Technical Product Manager experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, finance, or economics
- Experience in taking a product from conception & definition phase through engineering design and taking it to market
- Experience owning product-led growth, self-serve adoption, or growth product management for a developer or customer facing product
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within teams delivering software products and features using agile methodologies
- Experience with activation and retention strategy, funnel analytics, product instrumentation, and A/B experimentation
- Experience distributing products through third-party ecosystems such as IDE marketplaces, plugin registries, or open source
- Experience with agentic workflows, LLM-based product design, or prompt engineering in a production setting
- Experience working with startup ecosystems, venture capital, accelerators, or developer communities

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
