About the Company

Our client is an established tire and automotive service company providing commercial, fleet, roadside, and worksite services. The company is seeking a skilled OTR Service Technician to provide professional tire and mechanical service directly at customer breakdown and worksite locations.

Position Summary

The OTR Service Technician performs tire repairs, replacements, diagnostics, and maintenance services on customer vehicles at roadside and worksite locations. This role requires strong technical skills, customer service abilities, safe driving practices, and the ability to work independently while following company and industry safety standards.

Responsibilities

- Remove, repair, and replace tires at roadside and worksite locations using proper tools and procedures.
- Inspect tire damage and complete repairs to ensure safe and reliable vehicle operation.
- Diagnose service issues and recommend additional repairs or products when appropriate.
- Explain service procedures and recommendations to customers.
- Operate and safely drive a large service vehicle to customer locations.
- Ensure the service vehicle is fueled, clean, properly maintained, and stocked with necessary tools, parts, and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the service vehicle and equipment.
- Communicate service and mechanical repair issues to store management.
- Perform work efficiently while meeting company quality and safety standards.
- Participate in technical training to maintain and develop service knowledge.
- Follow company safety policies and applicable federal and state OSHA requirements.
- Attend required meetings and training sessions.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and industry best practices.

Requirements

- Must be at least 21 years of age .
- Minimum 2 years of prior tire service experience .
- Mechanical training and experience required.
- Experience with automotive service and alignment preferred.
- Shop environment experience required.
- Additional training and experience in alignment and automotive service preferred.
- TIA certification preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Clean and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical customers.
- Ability to navigate maps and safely operate a large service vehicle.
- Ability to work independently and make appropriate service recommendations.
- Must be willing to work after-hours and overtime as needed.
## Work Environment & Physical Demands

- Roadside and worksite service environment with frequent travel to customer locations.
- Frequent pushing and lifting of 50 pounds or more .
- Occasional lifting of 80+ pounds .
- Regularly required to stand, stoop, bend, push, pull, and work in physically demanding conditions.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, grease, engine fluids, and outdoor working conditions.
- Must follow required safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Safety shoes are required and are provided through a company cost-sharing program.
