About this role
What you'll do:
- Provide substantive support for transactions and deals (including fund launches and venture investments)
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including investor related agreements, vendor agreements and NDAs
- Provide legal advice on general corporate matters, governance and regulatory matters affecting the business and its initiatives
- Support business teams on operational, commercial, and strategic initiatives from a legal perspective
- Manage and mitigate legal risk in day-to-day business operations
- Liaise with external counsel on specialized legal matters
- Maintain corporate records and ensure compliance with statutory obligations and filings
- Participate in knowledge sharing – preparing commentaries and speaking on panels at conferences
Our ideal candidate:
- 3+ years of experience in a legal counsel role, preferably in private practice and/or in the Finance sector
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Admitted to the New York State Bar Association
- Knowledge of digital assets is preferred but not essential
- Sound judgment and decision-making in a fast-paced environment
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Ability to provide practical, commercially minded legal advice
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues to non-legal stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines
- High degree of ownership and autonomy
Compensation
A well-qualified candidate, based in New York City, can expect a base salary of $150,000.00 - $165,000.00. A standard offer from Hivemind Capital includes base compensation, incentive-based compensation such as discretionary bonuses or upside, and a highly competitive benefits and perks package. Offers are determined by a number of factors including (but not limited to) the applicant's experience, skills, certifications, as well as internal equity among our team.
