Product Quality Manager

The purpose of Product Quality is to capture and deploy the customers' needs and requirements on product execution throughout the organization. Documenting the quality plan(s) has multiple uses, such as: Ensuring conformance to customer requirements. Ensuring conformance to external and internal standards and procedures. Understanding customer needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes. Devising and reviewing specifications for products or processes. Setting requirements for raw material or intermediate products for suppliers and monitoring their compliance.
Quality assurance or quality control plans evaluate and/or modify an organization’s procedures to help ensure they provide the desired results. Quality control plans are often viewed as a set of instructions that should be followed. They document the planning, implementation, and assessment procedures for a project, as well as any QA or QC activity.
Quality planning is the method of deciding what’s most important to the project. This occurs during the planning stage, where you determine the critical factors for a successful project. What steps to take and specifications that must be met for the products to deliver in accordance to FLS and customer requirements.

Your responsibilities

- Develops & maintains the Project quality plans including quality documentation.
- Conducts or participates in engineering reviews / Project Kick of meeting
- Establishes and maintains Project Surveillance Plan – Inspection Test Plan
- Clarifies customer expectations to quality and liaison with customers
- Handles quality issues on project
- Informs suppliers and FLSmidth inspectors on quality issues so they are well prepared for inspections.
- Follows up on inspection reports from third party inspection companies in order to secure traceability
- Supports and facilitates the Development of more efficient processes
- Supports supplier evaluation & development
- Coordinates customer inspections (between Customer or their representatives), suppliers and FLSmidth inspectors to avoid misunderstandings.

What you bring

- A relevant bachelors level qualification, ideally an engineering degree.
- At least 5-8 years’ experience in QC, QPE, Manufacturing, Production platform.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships and credibility both internally and with external clients with strong customer service skills.
- Demonstrated business acumen to develop realistic business plans with stretch targets and the clear plan to reach those targets.
- Demonstrated knowledge of handling suppliers and how to improve them in terms of faster delivery, Quality standards. (Improving SIFOT, DIFOT)
- Ability to work in a team or individually on multiple concurrent projects.
- Computer experience using standard MS Office suite of programs is required
- Demonstrated ability to deliver in a fast-paced, changing environment while maintaining high attention to detail.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills in order to work with customers, External, Internal stake holders and other personnel on a daily basis
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good organization, multitasking and time management skills that delivers effective planning and housekeeping standards.
- Experience in dealing with international counterparts will be added advantages
- Knowledge of any foreign language will be added advantage
- Works towards building and maintaining good relationships with suppliers.
- Hands-on experience with ERP-systems
- Hands-on experience with QMS/IMS systems
- Experience in supplier in process manufacturing inspection will have added advantages.
- Handling NCR/TQ- desirable.
