POSITION SUMMARY:

Position Title: Configuration Management Specialist (SBG)

The Configuration Management Specialist (SBG)

- provides analytical and administrative support for configuration management activities.

- supports maintenance of configuration records, document control processes, status accounting activities, and configuration change tracking in support of Navy acquisition and sustainment programs.

- Senior level positions lead configuration management activities, supports Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), oversees configuration baseline integrity, and provides guidance regarding change management and configuration control processes throughout the system lifecycle.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Duties:

THESE ARE CONTINGENCY POSITIONS BASED ON CONTRACT AWARD, ON OR AROUND 4/2027.

- Maintain configuration records, repositories, and document libraries.

- Track configuration changes, action items, and approval workflows.

- Support configuration status accounting activities.

- Assist with preparation of configuration reports and management products.

- Coordinate and support Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings and actions.

- Analyze Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), deviations, waivers, and change requests.

- Ensure configuration baselines are established, maintained, and accurately documented.

- Develop configuration status reports, metrics, and management products.

- Support configuration audits and quality reviews.

- Coordinate document routing, review, and approval activities.

- Maintain configuration management databases and trackers.

- Support meeting preparation and records management activities.

- Travels unassisted via common carrier and/or personal auto as required and/or as directed by Management/Client (up to 5% of the year).

Other Duties:

- Assist senior personnel with configuration management activities.

- Support administrative and programmatic actions.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

Security Requirements:

- Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

SECURITY AND PRIVACY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Individuals working for DSS and subsidiary company will be subject to security and privacy requirements as explained in HIPAA, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53. Additionally, they are required to undergo specific FedRAMP training to ensure compliance with all associated controls and responsibilities in the day-to-day performance of their duties. Individuals working in departments that are considered to be in the high-risk category will be required to undergo advanced training based on their role and level of access. Individuals with access to modify data and the configuration baseline will require further training.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills:

- Required:

4+ years of relevant experience. (Low Mid Position)

- 10+ years of relevant experience.  (Low Senior Position)

- Microsoft Suite proficiency – Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint – if not proficient, must have willingness and drive to train / retrain

- Strong organizational and record-management skills.

- Ability to maintain documentation and tracking systems.

- Attention to detail.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

- Desired:

7+ years of relevant experience.(Low Mid Position)

- 15+ years of relevant experience. (Low Senior Position)

- Familiarity with configuration management concepts.

- Experience supporting engineering, logistics, or acquisition programs.

Education:

- Required:

Bachelor's degree in any discipline.

- Desired:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Logistics, Information Systems, or related field.

Certification(s), Licenses:

- Required:

None.

- Desired:

CMII, CMPIC, or equivalent Configuration Management certification.

Years of experience in a similar role:

- Required:

4+ years of relevant experience. (Low Mid Position)

- 10+ years of relevant experience.  (Low Senior Position)

- Desired:

7+ years of relevant experience.(Low Mid Position)

- 15+ years of relevant experience. (Low Senior Position)
