The Position
Friedman Vartolo LLP is seeking a Paralegal to serve as our onsite representative at a mortgage servicing client's office in the Jacksonville, FL area. You will be a Friedman Vartolo employee who works directly alongside the client's team every day, acting as a key point of connection between the client and our attorneys and legal teams.
The Paralegal supports foreclosure and default matters by preparing and reviewing legal documents, coordinating electronic filings and recordings, maintaining organized case files, and monitoring deadlines and procedural milestones. Because you will be embedded with the client, you will build strong working relationships on both sides, track file progression, and help identify and resolve issues before they turn into delays, keeping matters moving accurately, compliantly, and on time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the onsite point of contact between the client and Friedman Vartolo for foreclosure and default matters.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with client staff and with firm attorneys, paralegals, and operations teams.
- Monitor file progression and help ensure accuracy, compliance with client requirements and court rules, and timely resolution.
- Identify, escalate, and resolve issues to minimize delays and support a high level of service.
- Draft and review documents such as pleadings, motions, correspondence, and other legal documents.
- Coordinate e-filing with various court systems and document recording.
- Maintain complete and well-organized client and case files.
- Track and adhere to legal deadlines and procedural milestones.
- Prepare file status reports and updates for attorneys and client stakeholders.
- All other related duties as assigned to support client, departmental, and firm needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in foreclosure, default services, mortgage servicing, or a related legal environment
- Working knowledge of real estate default services
- Experience in LPS, Caseaware, Tempo, etc. is a plus
- Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with clients, in person and by phone
- Superior organizational, research, and writing skills
- Detail oriented and deadline driven
- Able to work independently while managing multiple priorities and a heavy workload
- Works well under pressure in a fast-paced, onsite environment
