Join LIFE, Inc. - Goldsboro as a Direct Support Professional, where you will provide compassionate and attentive care to clients in Goldsboro, NC. This part-time and PRN (as needed) role offers competitive compensation of $17.50 per hour, paid bi-weekly, with an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Responsibilities
- Assist and supervise clients with daily living activities such as dressing, bathing, toileting, and all other aspects of personal care.
- Support clients during meals, ensuring the use of family-style dining to promote social engagement.
- Help clients with housekeeping tasks, including clothing care, house cleaning, and yard maintenance.
- Facilitate meal preparation and the administration of nutritional supplements.
- Administer prescribed medications accurately and safely, adhering strictly to guidelines.
- Implement prescribed dietary plans and assist with the use of adaptive equipment as needed.
- Follow established behavior support programs, maintain detailed data collection, and uphold all safety procedures.
- Provide active treatment by supporting training objectives, recording necessary data, and working toward service goals.
- Collaborate effectively as a member of the interdisciplinary team, communicating client information as directed by supervisory staff.
- Safely transport clients using company vehicles when assigned.
- Accompany and support clients during community outings to promote engagement and independence.
- Assist clients during participation in school and day program activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support client well-being and program success.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Valid North Carolina drivers license.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- No previous experience required; training will be provided.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Strong oral and written communication abilities.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Flexible availability with the ability to be contacted by phone.
- Physical capability to lift or move 40 pounds or more.
- Certification or ability to learn MANDT, CPR, and First Aid techniques.
- Comfortable with daily exposure to body fluids, cleaning agents, and household equipment.
