Scope/Summary:

The Assistant Finance Manager assists the finance manager with Day to day functions of the Comprehensive Cancer Center (OSUCCC) Finance team. Recruits hires, trains, Supervises, mentors, and evaluates Financial Analyst staff (s2). Under the direction of the finance manager, Oversees day-to-day fiscal administration and activities of 1,200+ funds totaling over $120M Million each fiscal year within the OSUCCC works cross-functionally with The James and all OSU ancillary services to provide support in financial management, analytical financial statements and other financial services. Also manages their own personal fund portfolio of OSUCCC Funds including operating endowment development and research start-up funds. Completes monthly reconciliation of payroll transactions on the general ledger and completes HR adjustments and transactions. Preserves established financial and operational processing environment ensures adherence to appropriate internal control structures and compliance with established fiscal policies procedures and regulations. Assists in development of financial process improvements. Maintains policies processes and procedures for financial functions including journals transfers deposits accounts payable asset management. Oversees and reviews account reconciliations and financial transactions processed by the Financial Analysts resolves problems with accounts reviews approves and monitors supply orders.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other Business related field required. 5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required. Knowledge of a general ledger system is desirable. Requires successful completion of a background check; qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
