Job Description

What You’ll Do

As part of our veterinary team, your day may include:

- Safely restraining patients for veterinary examinations and procedures
- Triaging incoming patients and assisting with patient assessments
- Collecting and processing laboratory samples
- Assisting with diagnostic imaging and radiographs
- Providing nursing care and monitoring hospitalized patients with varying levels of stability
- Administering medications as directed by the veterinary team
- Obtaining medical histories and communicating with clients about treatment plans
- Preparing patients for surgery and assisting with surgical procedures
- Supporting anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe veterinary environment

No two days are exactly alike in veterinary medicine, and this role is a great fit for someone who enjoys staying active, learning new skills, and working closely with a collaborative team.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a compassionate, dependable Veterinary Assistant who enjoys working with both people and pets. Previous veterinary experience is preferred, with at least one year of experience being a plus.

The ideal candidate is:

- Calm, compassionate, and comfortable working with a variety of animals
- A strong team player and communicator
- Comfortable properly restraining pets
- Able to multitask and prioritize in a busy veterinary setting
- A self-starter who takes initiative and enjoys learning
- Familiar with sample collection, obtaining medical histories, laboratory testing, and radiographs
- Experienced with anesthesia monitoring or other advanced veterinary skills is a bonus
