Job Description

As a Sous Chef , you'll help lead the culinary team at Cattle Company , our signature steakhouse known for premium cuts of beef, Southern-inspired cuisine, and exceptional hospitality. Working alongside the Executive Chef, you'll oversee daily kitchen operations, maintain the highest food quality and safety standards, and help create memorable dining experiences for every guest.

What You'll Do as a Sous Chef:

• Assist the Executive Chef with daily kitchen operations and assume leadership responsibilities in their absence.
• Supervise, coach, and develop Back-of-House team members while maintaining high culinary and service standards.
• Assist with menu development, food preparation, inventory control, ordering, and food cost management.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and company standards while maintaining a clean, organized kitchen.
• Prepare and cook high-quality meals for restaurant service, banquets, and special events while responding professionally to guest needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What You Will Bring as a Sous Chef:

• Minimum of 3–5 years of culinary leadership experience; 5 years of culinary management experience preferred .
• Proven leadership experience managing and developing kitchen teams in a high-volume environment.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, sanitation, food safety, inventory, and kitchen operations.
• Experience supporting banquets, special events, or large-volume food production preferred.
• Culinary school diploma preferred; Food Handler Certification required within 30 days of hire.

Requirements:

• Ability to regularly lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds.
• Must be available to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.
• Required to pass a background check, drug test, and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
