What you will do

The Senior Packaging Supervisor will provide day-to-day leadership and operational oversight for packaging activities at the Guelph manufacturing site. You will be accountable for supporting the safe, compliant and efficient execution of packaging operations while leading an experienced team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

In this role, you will oversee approximately 23 operators and technicians and will be responsible for operational performance, quality, safety, employee development, documentation, issue escalation and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will bring established people-leadership experience, sound judgment and the ability to remain organized while managing multiple competing priorities.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead daily packaging operations and provide clear direction to operators and technicians.

- Set operational priorities, allocate resources, monitor execution and maintain consistent performance in a high-pressure production environment.

- Coach and develop employees, establish clear expectations and support ongoing employee development.

- Address performance concerns, maintain appropriate documentation and manage employee-relations matters and escalations using a firm, fair and consistent leadership approach.

- Promote a strong safety and quality culture across the packaging operation.

- Ensure work is completed in accordance with applicable procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices and company expectations.

- Address safety hazards and quality deviations promptly and support investigations and corrective actions.

- Identify and lead continuous-improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, equipment reliability, productivity and cycle time.

- Partner with technical and cross-functional teams to resolve operational issues and implement sustainable improvements.

- Ensure employees are appropriately trained and maintain compliant training status.

- Build team capability through coaching, development planning and knowledge transfer.

- Support Environmental, Health and Safety initiatives and other site-wide programs.

- Contribute to cross-functional projects and act as the manager’s backup or designate when required.

What We Are Looking For

Required Qualifications

- 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or plant operations.

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or a related discipline, with an engineering background preferred.

- Previous supervisory or people-management experience in a manufacturing environment.

- Experience leading a sizeable team and managing performance, coaching, documentation and employee-relations escalations.

- Packaging operations experience, including exposure to technical equipment and production troubleshooting.

- Experience working in a Good Manufacturing Practices regulated environment.

- Demonstrated ability to organize competing priorities, exercise sound judgment and remain effective under pressure.

- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in pharmaceutical or over-the-counter product manufacturing.

- Experience in another highly regulated Good Manufacturing Practices environment, such as food manufacturing or consumer packaged goods.

- Knowledge of continuous-improvement or Lean methodologies and experience leading improvement initiatives.

- Experience supporting safety, Environmental, Health and Safety, quality or compliance programs.

What’s in it for you

Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges:$92,600.00 - $142,600.00

This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate’s skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.
