Job Summary
The Quality Engineer Technician III is an experienced quality professional responsible for leading product failure analysis, supporting customer issue resolution, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role serves as a key resource between Corporate Quality, Engineering, Operations, Plant Quality, and Sales, providing technical expertise, data analysis, and advanced troubleshooting support.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

- Lead motor teardown failure analysis on field and production returns to identify root causes.
- Document and communicate findings to Corporate and Plant Quality teams and support corrective actions.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for quality-related issues.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret quality and reliability data to support improvement initiatives.
- Support reliability testing and validation activities for new and existing products.
- Coordinate testing requests with the Nidec Motor Technology Center and other laboratories.
- Assist with customer complaint investigations and resolution activities.
- Prepare and coordinate shipment of samples, returned products, and testing materials.
- Track project status, priorities, and response times to support customer and internal needs.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced technicians as needed.
- Conduct visits to customer sites and perform analysis of motor line issues.
- Maintain database of motor teardown analysis and generate periodic reports

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Advanced knowledge of inspection techniques, measurement systems, and test equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and electrical schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently and within cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Occasional travel may be required.

Education

- Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

Experience

- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing, quality, engineering technician, or related environment.
- Experience conducting product failure analysis, quality investigations, and data analysis.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement and corrective action initiatives preferred.
