Micron’s Edge Devices Group (EDG) develops and supports advanced memory and storage solutions for edge and embedded applications. The team works closely with design, validation, firmware, quality, and customer-facing engineering teams to ensure high product performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction across demanding markets such as industrial, automotive, consumer, and embedded systems. EDG offers the opportunity to work on innovative technologies, solve complex technical challenges, and contribute directly to product quality and continuous improvement.

Position overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic Product Development Engineer to become part of our Edge Devices Group (EDG), for the team in charge of Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) technical customer support. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals who have a solid technical background and a passion for failure analysis, product quality, and reliability engineering.

You will support the investigation of customer-reported issues, contribute to root cause analysis, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product quality and prevent recurrence.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the planning, execution, and tracking of verification activities.
- Define requirements for verification test programs/sequences based on specifications and application usage models.
- Perform Electrical Failure Analysis (FA), drive root cause analysis and coordinate corrective actions with other internal engineering groups.
- Report data in a clear format including concise comments about findings.
- Perform risk assessment at all decision points within verification cycle.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in the development of DFMEA (Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis), DFT (Design For Testability), DFM (Design For Manufacturability) deliverables.
- Continuously improve product quality and reliability through test development and use of Generative AI.
- Support development and execution of  Test Firmware (TFW) for production, FA and NAND verification.
- Develop test plans and support laboratory testing activities.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of product functionality.
- Support the development of software and hardware tools, leveraging AI automation.
- Build collaborative relationships with Design, Validation and Firmware Teams.
- Work with Quality Assurance teams on customer returns to establish root cause and corrective action.
- Collaborate with the marketing application engineering team to manage application notes, risk assessment, and datasheet errata.

Minimum Qualifications

- Master’s degree in Electronics,  Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Basic understanding of electronics and semiconductor devices.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with memory technology such as NAND, SSD, eMMC, UFS.
- Familiarity with Linux environments and AI scripting (Claude Code, Python).
- Fundamental understanding of quality tools (8D, root cause analysis).

The base salary range that Micron estimates it could pay in for this position full-time is:
33.000,00 € - 57.000,00 € per year, with B2 CCNL Level.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base pay for new hire salaries of the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
