We are growing at Optis! We are looking for a Technical Consultant to join our Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Montreal or New York teams. Working closely with the Project Manager, the Technical Consultant will serve as the first point of contact between technical clients integrating our partners' solutions (ZIP, SAP Ariba, or Coupa) with their ERP and/or other internal and 3rd party systems. The Technical Consultant will be responsible for developing technology solutions and mapping Optis customers' business requirements to systems/technical requirements to ensure they are in line with the enterprise architectural plan. As a Technical Consultant, you will provide input to the strategic direction of technology investments to assist Optis customers in the development of the enterprise architecture and maximize their return on technology investment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develop solutions for clients using service-oriented architecture patterns.
- Manage and implement an API-led strategy to connect data and applications with APIs.
- Define and gather requirements and conduct design sessions for technical solutions.
- Own the complete lifecycle of delivery, including architecture, design, development, test, and documentation of integration, custom development, and data migration solutions for business applications in SaaS and other ERP systems.
- Define and document integration architecture, capture and document non-functional (architectural) requirements, prepare estimates, and define technical solutions.
- Estimate the tasks and resources required to design, build, and test the code.
- Develop new code or enhance existing code for solution development.
- Maintain a sharp focus on system reliability and ensure the overall solution architecture can gracefully handle upstream and downstream system failures.
- Provide in-depth expertise in the discipline of integration architecture, data sources, security, technical design, programming, testing, and deployment.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent preferred.
- Intermediate skills in developing integrations with Web Services, XML, JSON, SQL and/or other integration technologies are mandatory.
- Experience facilitating application integration architecture discussions and workshops.
- Proven experience developing integrations using REST API, SOAP Web Services and other integration architectures.
- Experience with ZIP is highly preferred or SAP Ariba, Coupa, GEP, and/or Ivalua Procurement solutions.
- Additional experience using other ETL tools is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in an Integration Architect or Lead Technical Architect capacity in an Agile/Hybrid development environment for transformational Source-to-Pay programs or equivalent.
- Proven skills as a team member, team lead or project manager on at least three full lifecycle implementations.
- Functional knowledge of Procurement business processes is preferred.
- Technical aptitude and comfort in understanding web-based applications, SaaS, PaaS and IaaS cloud models, and integration concepts, as well as the application of these technologies in the enterprise environment.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience presenting a clear and concise technical narrative.
- ERP knowledge (SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle or others) is preferred.

SPECIAL DEMANDS

- Ability to travel within Canada and the United States.
- Ability to travel up to 35% of the time.
