SUMMARY:
Provides senior level mechanical engineering or manufacturing engineering services to ensure the quality of products and services. May provide mechanical design solutions and documentation. May provide testing for electronic systems, etc. Assures product quality and manufacturability in all phases or product lifecycle. Supports and troubleshoots automated and manual production processes.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
- Provides technical or mechanical engineering support to internal and external teams to ensure products are manufactured/packaged in accordance with specifications.
- Directly or indirectly conduct production part performance evaluations following internal and industrial test standards. Provides engineering solutions based on test result analysis.
- Provides on-site support for production/packaging teams and quality control groups.
- Oversee the creation of part specifications and packaging/production specifications.
- Performs root cause analysis in response to nonconformance. Designs corrective actions and solutions to reduce defects with minimal cost.
- Leads product and process-related continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives. May deploy engineering methodologies such as statistical analysis, SPC, and capability analysis as a basis for recommendations to leadership.
- Leads cross-departmental workflow, and documentation development in support of new processes and/or expanding business unit development (Quality Assurance activities).
- Designs, tests and implements tools to support production operations.
- Provides technical guidance and training for junior level Manufacturing Engineering staff.
SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS
- 6 or more years of related engineering experience.
- Operational and theoretical knowledge of environmental, vibration, compression and impact stress testing methodologies.
- Experience in high-volume automated and manual production environments (Familiarity with MES).
- In-depth knowledge of packaging materials and associated performance testing protocols (ISTA).
- Competency in statistical analysis and process control tools.
- Fluency in SolidWorks and Agile PLM.
- Advanced data analysis skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer certification preferred.
- Valid passport required for international travel.
- Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N1 certification or equivalent capability.

This position is hybrid in Redmond, WA. Hybrid positions require regular onsite work following the schedule and guidelines for their division. This position is not open to fully remote status at this time.
This position includes the base pay range listed below, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
Pay Range: $108,450 — $173,550 USD
