The Opportunity

Abbott Nutrition is seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist, Packaging to help drive procurement strategy and value creation across packaging spend within the U.S. region. In this role, you will partner closely with Global Procurement, Operations, Supply Chain, and site procurement teams to develop sourcing strategies, optimize supplier performance, negotiate contracts, and deliver sustainable cost savings while supporting business objectives.

What You'll Work On

- Implement packaging category procurement strategies across the U.S. region in alignment with global procurement objectives.
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers to support business and operational needs.
- Drive value creation and cost savings through strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Lead competitive sourcing events, including RFIs, RFPs, and supplier evaluations.
- Conduct supplier negotiations and manage supplier relationships to achieve favorable commercial outcomes.
- Analyze supplier proposals, market trends, and cost structures to support sourcing decisions.
- Develop and manage project plans, ensuring successful execution of multiple procurement initiatives.
- Partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Operations, Legal, Quality, and Risk Management teams.
- Support the development and execution of contracts, statements of work, and procurement standards.
- Build category expertise through market intelligence, supplier assessments, and industry analysis.
- Track, analyze, and report key procurement metrics, including savings, supplier performance, and sourcing effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with Abbott policies, procurement procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or a related function.
- Strong procurement expertise, including strategic sourcing, contract management, supplier negotiations, and supplier relationship management.
- Experience managing and delivering against key performance indicators such as cost savings, cycle time improvements, and supplier performance metrics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop business cases and drive solutions.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to effectively engage with leadership.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Ability to travel up to 15%.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting packaging categories within manufacturing, food, nutrition, healthcare, or related industries.
- Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional certification such as APICS, CPIM, CSCP, CPSM, or ISM certification.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience leading complex sourcing projects and supplier negotiations.
- Knowledge of category management, market intelligence, and supplier risk assessment.
- Experience collaborating within a global procurement organization.

$78,000.00 – $156,000.00
