A Different Kind of DSP Role

This is not your typical DSP or caregiving role. Dungarvin is hiring experienced Direct Support Professionals and human services professionals to join our Adult Day Program, supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they build confidence, learn new skills, and become more independent.

You will lead group activities, teach practical life skills, support community outings, provide personal care and behavioral support, and encourage individuals as they work toward meaningful goals. Perks of the Position

- Competitive Pay:  $21.75/hour.  New hires for this position start at $21.75/hour
- Full Pay Range: $21.75 - $24.25/hour.  The higher rates shown in the range are pay increases reached over time and are tied to tenure/length with Dungarvin.

Job Description

What You'll Actually Do

- Lead hands-on group activities that support learning, confidence, and independence
- Teach and reinforce practical life skills, social skills, communication, and choice-making
- Support community outings, volunteer activities, and recreational experiences
- Encourage and coach individuals as they work toward personal goals
- Provide personal care, including restroom, hygiene, eating, and mobility support
- Provide behavioral support and use trained de-escalation techniques when needed
- Follow individualized service and behavior support plans
- Drive company vehicles for outings and community activities
- Complete accurate electronic documentation related to goals, progress, and daily activities
- Prepare, clean, and reset program areas and work closely with your team to maintain a safe and supportive environment

Your Experience Matters

We're looking for candidates who already have some hands-on experience supporting adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities.  Relevant experience may include work as a DSP, Behavior Technician/RBT, paraprofessional, respite provider, job coach, community support professional, or similar human services role.

Qualifications

What You'll Need

- At least 6 months of experience supporting adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities
- Must be 18 years or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive a company van
- Experience with direct support, personal care, behavioral support, or skill development
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn electronic documentation systems
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to lift and transfer up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work as part of a team in an active, changing environment

Experience in an adult day program, group home, behavioral program, or community-based setting is a plus
