About this role

The Role

The Manager of Leadership Programs is responsible for the implementation and ongoing improvement of the DRC’s Young Professionals leadership programs. This individual will engage the business community by supporting the development of leaders to help meet the needs of the region and strengthen the DRC member’s leadership pipeline. This position must exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance including (i) leadership program implementation and (ii) program member recruitment. This position requires strong project management skills, data analytics, and relationship management experience. Highly collaborative and strong work ethic required for this position.

Reporting Structure

This individual will report directly to the Managing Director of Leadership Programs and assist with overall operations of this team.

Key Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The duties and responsibilities include the following, though other duties may be assigned.

- Manage and execute leadership development programs, with specific responsibility of Young Professionals and LEAD YP.

- Provide direct support to the Managing Director and collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute departmental objectives, programs and strategic initiatives.

- Develop, organize, and implement program’s strategy, operational framework and implementation plan including but not limited to development of events, membership recruitment and engagement, and marketing efforts to prospective members and the community at large.

- Coordinate program events by working with the Chamber event team to determine logistics including but not limited to venue locations, food and beverage needs, sponsorships, speaker confirmations, agenda, content, registration process, marketing and communications.

- Manage the selection, vetting and engagement of the program’s council members and committee groups and works closely with Managing Director to foster alignment with DRC’s vision and foundational core areas

- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to promote the program, manage applicant recruitment efforts, coordinate all aspects, and ensure a thorough and high quality experience for the candidates.

- Work closely with Leadership to develop and build a strategy for the program advisory council committee to deliver meaningful experiences that support Lead YP and YP participants throughout the program.

- Manage program sponsorship relationships to deliver benefits and create value-add experiences for members and sponsors. Work closely with the managing director on pipeline initiatives and cultivation strategies in alignment with the membership team for sponsorship pitches.

- Partners with the DRC team to cultivate and expand relationships with member and prospective member companies, leveraging the value and benefits of Leadership Programs to support membership recruitment, engagement and growth.

- Utilize internal and external resources to perform data analytics in relationship to member engagement, experience, and overall satisfaction with programs provided and offer informed suggestions and ideas to improve and be more efficient.

- Lead and execute program initiatives pertaining to marketing, communications, digital assets, and both external and internal outlets.

- Represent Chamber at various events.

- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree required; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Professional experience is strongly preferred in event and relationship management, sponsorship cultivation, and business development.

- High level of discretion and professionalism required in managing corporate relationships in addition to project management skills required to successfully fulfill this role.
