Job Description
Comparative Medicine is responsible for providing animal care and assuring regulatory animal compliance, while meeting and advancing the scientific needs of our researchers with consideration for the well-being of our research animals. We are a scientifically integrated organization within R&D, working to provide solutions for in-vivo research groups through technical support and model development, maintenance, and on-going refinements.
The Associate Scientist, RTS is a core member of the Comparative Medicine team and conceives and implements experimental approaches to answer scientific questions in a GxP environment. Investigate, identify, develop, and optimize new methods and techniques and provide continuous improvement solutions. Contribute to project science in areas of expertise. Develop productive collaboration and communications with all other functions and research areas.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement methods and techniques
- Plans, organizes and controls the resources within the assigned laboratory in accordance with the needs of the lab.
- Can demonstrate scientific initiative and creativity in research and development activities
- Demonstrates ability to update current and develop new methods
- Author of SOPs, training documents, shipping documents and regulatory documents as needed.
- Maintain productivity of self and ability to coach, mentor and engage others.
- Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, appropriate handling of materials, controlled drugs, toxins, radioisotopes, GxP compliance and animal care.
- Ability to maintain ECT clearance to work with regulated entities
- Focus on 3Rs/Animal welfare initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education including associate’s degree in animal science field, typically with 3 or more years’ experience.
- Theoretical and practical knowledge to carry out job functions

- This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.
