Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a Water Serviceperson to join our reactive maintenance team in Tauranga.
In this role, you’ll carry out routine maintenance and respond to faults across wastewater and stormwater networks. Your work will include investigating and repairing network issues, responding to odour complaints and overflows, completing reinstatement works, and supporting incident responses.
You’ll work closely with your crew, supervisors, customers, subcontractors and the public to deliver safe, timely and high-quality outcomes. You’ll also use mobile field technology to record job information, complete documentation and maintain accurate as-built records.
This is a varied outdoor role that includes participation in a standby and callout roster. If you enjoy practical problem-solving, working as part of a team and providing great service to your community, we’d like to hear from you.

You’ll be a safety-focused, reliable and proactive team member who takes pride in quality workmanship. You will bring:
• Full Class 1 Driver Licence
• Knowledge or experience in infrastructure, civil construction or network maintenance
• Strong practical problem-solving skills
• The ability to communicate clearly and work effectively in a team
• Confidence dealing with customers and members of the public
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills and the ability to enter information into a mobile field device
• A self-motivated, energetic and results-focused approach
• Willingness to participate in standby, callout and incident-response rosters
Confined Space and Hazard Awareness training, traffic management qualifications, or a Class 2 Licence with WTR endorsements would be advantageous, but are not essential.
