Job Description:

The Adult Education Instructor will report to the Executive Director of Adult Education.  Under general supervision, the Adult Education Instructor will prepare plans for classroom instruction, obtain or prepare instructional materials, and provide learner guidance to students.  He/she will evaluate student’s progress and performance in attaining goals and objective.  The Adult Education Instructor will promote the Adult Education Program throughout the service deliver area, plan organize and participate in staff development and team conferences, maintain a secure classroom environment, and assist with recruitment and retention efforts.  He/she must have the ability to deal effectively with a variety of individuals.  The Adult Education Instructor must demonstrate excellent written, verbal, computer literacy and communication skills.  He/she will strive to contribute to the overall success of the college and its students.  Knowledge of student assessment, planning and delivering individualized instruction in Math, Reading, Language, Science and Social Studies is required.  He/she must be able to work a flexible schedule to include evening and or weekends.

Minimum Qualifications:   Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or   university in Education, Adult Education or a related field*AND* have a minimum of three (3) years full time paid work experience within the past five (5) years in an educational environment.

Preferred Qualifications:  Have supervisory and teaching experience with adults and underage youth in and Adult Education setting.

Physical Demands: Work may be performed in a classroom environment with intermittent sitting or walking in various settings. Full range of hand and finger motion may be utilized for data entry purposes.

Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of a bachelor's degree from a college or university.
