<b>Overview</b><br><div dir="ltr"><p>Help build the next generation of computing with Project Solara, a new chip-to-cloud platform for agent-first devices. Project Solara brings together software, hardware, cloud services, and AI to enable specialized device experiences shaped around people, their agents, tasks, and environments.</p><p>The Applied Sciences Group (ASG) is the multidisciplinary product engineering, research, and incubation team developing Project Solara and turning its vision into working devices and product experiences. As a<strong> Software Engineer II </strong>on the ASG team, you will design, implement, integrate, and validate software changes across Android-based devices and platform components. You will also develop automated verification, testing, and continuous integration infrastructure that enables the team to deliver secure, reliable, and high-quality device experiences. You will collaborate across software, firmware, hardware, security, and cloud services to deliver new device capabilities, diagnose system-level issues, and move changes from development through integration and release.</p><p>Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. Each day, we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.</p></div><br><br><b>Responsibilities</b><br><ul><li>Design, implement, test, debug, and maintain software changes for Android-based devices and embedded platform components.</li><li>Work with engineering and product partners to define requirements and deliver new device and platform capabilities.</li><li>Integrate and validate changes across application, operating system, firmware, and hardware boundaries.</li><li>Develop and maintain automated tests, verification tools, test frameworks, and continuous integration infrastructure that improve engineering velocity and product quality.</li><li>Investigate software defects, test failures, and system-level issues using logs, traces, telemetry, test results, and other diagnostic information.</li><li>Contribute to software designs, identify dependencies, document technical decisions, and participate in code and design reviews.</li><li>Break larger engineering efforts into scoped work items, provide estimates, and drive assigned changes through development, testing, integration, and release.</li></ul><br><br><b>Qualifications</b><br><p><strong>Required/Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND some technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.<ul style="list-style-type: circle;"><li>OR equivalent experience.</li></ul></li></ul><p><strong>Additional or preferred qualifications</strong></p><p><strong>Other Requirements: </strong>Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
