About this role

Working at Atlassian

Atlassians can choose where they work – whether in an office, from home, or a combination of the two. That way, Atlassians have more control over supporting their family, personal goals, and other priorities. We can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity.

In this role, you’ll:

- Perform day-to-day revenue accounting and month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and flux analysis, so revenue is recorded accurately and on time.
- Apply ASC 606 to customer contracts and transactions. Identify unusual or complex arrangements for technical evaluation and escalate them to leadership.
- Prepare technical accounting memos, position papers, and supporting analyses for new products, pricing changes, and non-standard deals.
- Validate and reconcile revenue subledger data against the general ledger, including billing, Oracle, and RevPro, and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Execute and document SOX controls over revenue. Evaluate control design and recommend improvements that balance risk and efficiency.
- Prepare quarterly and annual revenue disclosures and supporting schedules for external reporting, including SEC filings and audit requests.
- Translate business and accounting needs into system and process requirements, and support UAT for revenue system enhancements, new product launches, and acquisitions.
- Lead small projects and contribute to cross-functional initiatives that improve close efficiency, automation, and data quality.
- Partner with Billing, Deal Desk, FP&A, Tax, Legal, and systems teams as a trusted advisor on revenue matters.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing clear, well-documented processes and supporting evidence.
