About the role
Join Allianz's Reinsurance team and play a key role in shaping and delivering our reinsurance strategy. Working closely with underwriting, claims, portfolio, finance and risk teams, you will help develop innovative reinsurance solutions that support business growth, strengthen portfolio resilience and optimise capital outcomes. This is a unique opportunity to gain exposure across the insurance value chain while partnering with senior leaders, global reinsurers and brokers to manage and enhance one of Australia's largest reinsurance programmes.
Key Accountabilities:
- Support the development and delivery of Allianz Australia's reinsurance strategy, helping optimise treaty and facultative reinsurance arrangements to support growth, profitability and risk objectives.
- Partner with underwriting, portfolio, claims, finance and risk teams to provide reinsurance expertise, assess emerging risks and identify opportunities to enhance business outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with reinsurers, brokers and internal stakeholders, influencing outcomes and strengthening Allianz Australia's position in the reinsurance market.
- Lead the preparation and coordination of reinsurance submissions, renewals and market presentations, supporting successful placements and capacity negotiations.
- Analyse portfolio performance, catastrophe exposures and programme effectiveness, providing insights and recommendations that improve coverage, efficiency and value.
- Drive strategic projects, process improvements and new initiatives that enhance reinsurance decision-making, operational excellence and business performance.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience in insurance, reinsurance, underwriting, broking, actuarial consulting or portfolio management environments.
- Strong understanding of reinsurance structures, catastrophe risk and insurance portfolio management principles.
- Exposure to complex treaty and facultative reinsurance programmes, including placement and optimisation activities.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships and influence outcomes with reinsurers, brokers and internal stakeholders.
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to assess portfolio performance and align reinsurance strategies to business objectives.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business insights, coupled with a proactive mindset, intellectual curiosity and commitment to continuous learning.
