About this role

Summary:

Esposito Construction has dozens of major sitework projects underway in NJ and we’re looking for a Diesel Mechanic. Must have a minimum of 3 years experience

- Pay: Flexible, experience based $35-50 DOE

Requirements:

- Ability to perform large and small repairs in either a mobile or shop setting.

- Strong preventative and predictive maintenance experience.

- Experienced in engine diagnostics, hydraulics, electrical, HVAC, drivetrain, brakes and suspension.

- Focuses first and foremost on “safety” in all aspects of equipment repairs.

- Hours 11-7pm

Responsibilities:

- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair Class 8 diesel trucks, including Mack, Kenworth, and Peterbilt models.

- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and preventative care to ensure fleet vehicles operate efficiently and meet DOT standards.

- Identify and replace faulty electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical components as needed.

- Conduct engine, transmission, differential, suspension, and brake system repairs on diesel trucks.

- Perform welding and fabrication when necessary for structural or frame repairs.

- Use diagnostic software, scan tools, and testing equipment to troubleshoot engine management, electrical, and emissions systems.

- Keep accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, DOT inspections, and parts usage.

- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and shop safety regulations, including proper use of PPE.

- Work independently or as part of a team to minimize vehicle downtime and maintain fleet reliability.

- Occasionally perform roadside or field service repairs when breakdowns occur.

- Keep shop tools and service truck equipment in working order by following maintenance protocols and troubleshooting breakdowns.

- Maintain adequate inventory of parts and shop supplies by monitoring stock levels, placing orders, and verifying deliveries
