JOB SUMMARY:
Senior Library Managers provide leadership and operational oversight for their assigned library while supervising a small group of Library Managers. Senior Library Managers strengthen performance across libraries by developing effective leaders, fostering collaboration, advancing organizational priorities, and ensuring libraries deliver meaningful outcomes for their communities. They balance the needs of their own library with broader leadership responsibilities, achieving results through both direct leadership and the leadership of others.

The hiring salary for this position is $76,648.00 annually. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week. This position is exempt from the federal Fair Labor Standards Act. The candidate should be available to work all hours the library is open, including some weekends and evenings.*

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

- Must currently hold a permanent Library Manager position with the Metropolitan Library System; and,

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and,

- Five or more years of personnel management experience in a public library, including experience managing library operations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

- ALA-accredited masters degree in library and information science
