Job Summary

A sales manager is responsible for leading and guiding a team of salespeople in the dealership. They set sales goals & quotas, build a sales plan, analyze data, assign sales training and mentor their team members.

Specific Job-Related Duties and Responsibilities

Work directly with employees and customers to develop relationships and help bridge disconnects in the sales process

Build rapport with customers to build a base of referrals to establish customer network

Provide training and support to the sales staff and assist in closing sales

Help manage all other aspects of the sales department

Desk Deals, Track Gross Logs and RDR vehicle transactions.

Appraise trade-ins and establish an ACV for them in consultation with fellow sales management team.

Maintain sustainable dealership production levels.

Identify coaching needs and promote training opportunities

Develop future sales managers and professionals through job growth, training, development and performance

Provide guidance, support and motivation to ensure employees are maximizing their ability and growth potential

Set an example of professionalism through actions and appearance

Maintain superior customer service (CSI) through dealership culture

Ensure target revenues are met or exceeded

Responsible for profitability in the sales department

Work closely with sales team on enforcement of proper selling methods

Manage inventory and vehicle lot display

Work with the General Sales Manager to review forecasts and profits

Responsible for developing productive relationships throughout the various dealership departments.

Maintain a positive and ethical working relationship with all employees, manufacturers, lenders, vendors and customers.

Maintain value, quality, and integrity

General Company Related Duties and Responsibilities

Report to work within acceptable time frames and company standards

Qualifications

Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent required

Prior Sales Leadership – Dealership experience required

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Strong computer & phone skills (Internet, MS Outlook, CRM)

Strong understanding of inventory control

Desk deals for sales professionals and take T.O.s to maximize deal potential

Deal with local and national vendors and manufacturer representatives

Professional appearance and work ethic

Self-motivated, goal oriented, and ability to work within a fast-paced environment

Current, valid drivers license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)

Ability to pass a drug screen

Working Conditions

The employee will work indoors and outdoors.
