Tesla is looking for a qualified Associate Controls Engineer to join our factory paint plastics engineering team in Austin, TX. You will play a pivotal role in the design of complex manufacturing facilities. This role requires a highly organized mindset, a passion for driving multi-disciplinary projects, and an unparalleled ability to consistently perform at a high level.
Application based selection of Instruments and Control devices required to operate and optimize complex mechanical and paint process systems. These systems include ovens, air supply units, paint automation cells, conveyors, and network systems Cover production downtime activities and permanent solutions through controls projects Work with vendors and contractors to review designs and ensure that they meet Tesla quality and documentation standards Participate in development of scalable network architectures for plant wide high reliability control systems Work closely with HMI developers and programmers to optimize data exchange and enhance system usability SCADA system development to optimize production and maintenance efficiency PLC programming capable of permanent engineering improvements
Degree in an Engineering field, or equivalent experience 1-3 years of experience as a hands-on Controls Engineer or Instrumentation Engineer, Applications Engineer working on automation and/or electromechanical systems Ability to review eplans, process and mechanical drawings to properly simulate and install equipment needed at coatings shops Familiarity with Paint controls systems Configuration of controls networks including, Ethernet/IP, Profinet and Serial Communication Knowledge of industrial process and manufacturing equipment, including safety system. Should be proficient in Siemens, Allen Bradly, or Beckhoff Ability to work under pressure while maintaining controls standards
