About this role

GENERAL SUMMARY :

The Food Runner is responsible for serving food orders as specified by guests in a friendly and courteous manner.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Always presents self in courteous and professional manner to guests.

- Checks orders for accuracy prior to serving to ensure food items are as guests ordered (sides, extras, etc.).

- Delivers food orders with appropriate garnishments.

- Delivers food orders timely and, where multiple guests involved, at the same time.

- Communicates important information to guests (example: hot plate) and servers (example: guest seeking drink from bar).

- Responds to guests’ requests for condiments or other items.

- Continually clears away dishes and debris from stations.

- Has knowledge of table numbers and the physical layout of the restaurant to ensure prompt and proper service for guests.

- Brings guests’ inquiries regarding food allergies to the Manager’s attention immediately.

- Ensures station is suitable for serving and meets company standards.

Qualifications

- High school diploma

- Prior experience preferred

- Open availability to work day and evening shifts, as well as weekends and holidays

- Must be pleasant, cooperative and take direction well with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

- Exhibits and uses good manners, proper personal hygiene, positive attitude, and promptness.

- Must be able to perform under pressure in a high-volume restaurant setting.

- Must be able to interact verbally and listen attentively to guests, co-workers, and supervisors.

Restaurant Setting

- Must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for entire shift.

- Must have a good sense of balance, be able to lift, bend, kneel, stoop, squat, push and pull.

- Must be able to frequently lift food, and other items weighing up to 50 pounds.

- Position involves repetitive hand and wrist motion.
