About this role
We are seeking an experienced AI Developer (m/f/d) to support the development, enhancement, and operation of AI-driven applications. The role has a strong DevOps focus, including maintaining and optimizing existing systems as well as implementing high-performance backend services. The environment consists of API-based AI services, microservices, and the associated infrastructure, including automated CI/CD processes.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance REST-based AI services
- Implement backend functionalities using Python
- Develop, integrate, and maintain microservices
- Connect external systems and various data sources
- Ensure code quality through automated testing and code reviews
- Containerize applications using Docker or Podman
- Build, enhance, and maintain Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines
- Deploy and operate applications on OpenShift and Kubernetes platforms
- Automate build, test, and release processes
- Analyze and troubleshoot issues across multiple system components
- Evaluate log data and monitor application runtime behavior
- Ensure maintainability, scalability, and performance of applications
- Collaborate closely with development, infrastructure, and frontend teams
- Contribute to architecture, design, and technology decisions
- Create technical documentation in Confluence
- Estimate effort and plan/implement tasks in Jira
Requirements
Must-Have
- Excellent written and spoken English skills
- Strong experience in software development with Python
- Experience designing and implementing REST APIs
- Hands-on experience with Docker or Podman
- Proficient with Git
- Experience working with Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines
Nice-to-Have
- German language skills
- Experience with Bash scripting
- Knowledge of OpenShift and/or Kubernetes
- Experience with GitLab CI/CD
- Experience with FastAPI
- Experience with microservice architectures
- Basic knowledge of Kafka
- Basic knowledge of Redis
