Job Title: Cashier
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and efficient Cashier to join our refinery-based team. This position primarily focuses on fast, accurate point-of-sale (POS) transactions while maintaining excellent customer service in a high-traffic, industrial environment. The role also requires flexibility to assist with deli operations, food preparation, stocking, and maintaining cleanliness standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate POS systems efficiently and accurately, handling cash, card, and digital payments
- Provide fast, friendly, and professional customer service to refinery employees and visitors
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked checkout and sales area
- Restock shelves, coolers, and merchandise as needed
- Monitor inventory levels and report low-stock items
Deli Support Duties (as needed):
- Assist with basic food preparation (sandwiches, hot items, etc.)
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Serve food items quickly and accurately during busy periods
- Maintain cleanliness of deli equipment and food prep areas
Qualifications:
- Previous cashier or retail experience preferred
- Experience with POS systems and cash handling
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Willingness to cross-train and assist in deli operations
- Basic understanding of food safety practices (or willingness to learn)
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced refinery setting with high customer volume during peak hours
- May require standing for extended periods
- Exposure to both retail and food service environments
- Must follow all site safety policies and procedures
