Restaurant Host/Hostess
Bretton Woods is a private golf and recreation center in the Germantown/Darnestown/Poolesville area that offers food and beverage services in multiple areas on our beautifully landscaped 269 acres. This position will be filled by a person that can work indoors, outdoors, evenings, weekends, and summer holidays. We cross train all F & B staff to be capable of providing table side service in the restaurant, on the outdoor patios, and at our pool snack bar.
As a host you will create memorable member experiences. You will be a member of a cohesive team that supports each others success, you will work in a team-oriented, high-volume, fast-paced, guest-centric environment to provide our members with an exceptionally distinctive dining experience before they even order food!
Reports to: Clubhouse Manager, Lead Server
Supervises: None
Requirements and Qualifications
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate on the telephone while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Able to perform simple mathematical calculations.
- Able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for multiple hours.
- Able to bend, kneel, and lift items frequently weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Must be upbeat, energetic, and well mannered.
- Must have reliable transportation to work.
- Must be able to work weekends.
- 16+ age requirement.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for timely and efficient greeting the clubs members, their families, and guests.
- Knowledge and understanding of guests needs and preferences on seating.
- Ability to work as part of a team from kitchen to dining room.
- Anticipate member and guest needs, remaining a step ahead with continuous service.
- Take ownership of situations in dining areas that create positive experiences.
- Maintain a professional appearance and wear the required uniform; you are a representative of Bretton Woods.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Lift, push, pull, carry up to 50lbs.
- Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Repetitive motion.
