Position Summary

Doonan Specialized Trailer is seeking motivated and dependable Production Assemblers to join our manufacturing team on both Day and Night Shifts .

Production Assemblers are responsible for assembling prefabricated steel and aluminum components to build large commercial trailers. This position involves working from blueprints and templates while using a variety of hand tools, power tools, machines, and material-handling equipment.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable working with tools, pays close attention to detail, and takes pride in producing quality work.

Essential Responsibilities

- Read and follow blueprints, drawings, templates, and work instructions

- Assemble prefabricated metal and aluminum components to build commercial trailers

- Lay out, fit, drill, screw, bolt, and rivet metal sheeting, frames, bars, and angle clips

- Use pneumatic and hydraulic hand tools and other power equipment

- Assemble and bolt trailer undercarriages into position

- Mount tires and wheels

- Drill, tap, ream, countersink, and spot-face holes using drill presses and portable power drills

- Operate drill presses, punch presses, riveting machines, and other production equipment

- Safely operate small cranes and lifting equipment to transport or position large components

- Use hand files, scrapers, and other tools to achieve proper fit and finish between components

- Install trailer lights, electrical components, and customer options

- Assemble and install various trailer components and accessories

- Assist with the salvage and reassembly of components such as power brake boosters, air-brake compressors, and valves

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards

Physical Requirements

This position involves working on large commercial trailers and requires the ability to:

- Climb on and around large trailers

- Bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and work in various positions

- Stand and walk for extended periods

- Safely handle tools and materials throughout the workday

- Work around large equipment and moving components

- Lift and maneuver materials as required

Qualifications

- Manufacturing, construction, fabrication, or mechanical experience preferred but not required

- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn

- Ability to read and follow blueprints or detailed instructions

- Comfortable working with hand tools and power tools

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic

- Commitment to workplace safety

No trailer manufacturing experience? No problem. We are willing to train motivated individuals who have a strong work ethic and the desire to learn.

- Pay: Up to $21.00 per hour, depending on experience (+$2 shift differential pay for night shift)
