About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager / FP&A Lead to join our growing finance team and play a key role across our US and UK operations.

This is a hands-on role that combines FP&A, financial reporting, accounting, and month/quarter-end close responsibilities . The successful candidate will work closely with the US and UK Controllers and have the opportunity to support a complex, multi-group biotech organization.

The role will report directly to the Finance leadership team and will be responsible for helping ensure the accurate, timely, and high-quality delivery of financial reporting and close processes , while also providing meaningful financial analysis and insight to support business decisions.

We are particularly interested in candidates with biotech or life sciences experience , strong technical accounting knowledge, and experience working across US and UK reporting environments.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis

- Lead and support FP&A activities, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis.

- Provide meaningful analysis and insights into financial performance, trends, and business drivers.

- Partner with business and finance stakeholders to develop financial plans and forecasts.

- Translate financial data into clear insights and recommendations for leadership.

- Support scenario analysis and longer-term financial planning.

Financial Reporting & Close

- Support the accurate and timely completion of monthly and quarterly close processes across US and UK entities.

- Work closely with the US and UK Controllers to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial information.

- Review financial results, investigate variances, and identify potential accounting or reporting issues.

- Support preparation and review of management and financial reporting.

- Assist with US/SEC reporting requirements and related financial information.

- Help ensure consistent accounting and reporting practices across the group.

Accounting & Technical Finance

- Apply strong knowledge of US GAAP and UK GAAP across a multi-entity environment.

- Support technical accounting matters and ensure appropriate accounting treatment for complex transactions.

- Work closely with Controllers and other finance stakeholders on accounting issues and reporting requirements.

- Develop a detailed understanding of the group's operations, entities, and financial activities.

- Be willing to roll up your sleeves and get into the detail when required rather than operating solely at a high-level FP&A or management-reporting level.

Business Partnership

- Partner closely with finance and operational teams across the US and UK.

- Build strong working relationships with Controllers and other key stakeholders.

- Help improve financial processes, reporting, controls, and systems.

- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve the efficiency and accuracy of finance processes.

- Support ad hoc financial analysis and projects as the business evolves.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent ).

- Significant experience in finance, FP&A, financial reporting, or a combination of these areas.

- Strong biotech or life sciences industry experience is essential.

- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and familiarity with UK GAAP .

- Experience with US/SEC reporting and related financial reporting requirements.

- Experience supporting month-end and quarter-end close processes.

- Strong financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and analytical capabilities.

- Experience working within a multi-entity or multi-group organization.

- Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.

- Excellent Excel and financial analysis skills.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working across US and UK finance teams.

- Experience in a public company or SEC reporting environment.

- Experience with biotech, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or another highly regulated industry.

- Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.

- Experience improving finance processes and controls.
