Materials Supervisor

Purpose of the Position:

Manage the day to day operations of materials management, receiving and material delivery throughout warehouses and manufacturing plant.

Essential job functions:

- Supervise department personnel including material handler(s), forklift operator(s), and receiver(s).

- Responsible for inventory control and implementing/maintaining a cycle count program.

- Responsible for ensuring materials are received accurately and issued to jobs electronically in the company's ERP system accordingly.

- Responsible for timely delivery of materials throughout the facility.

- Execute problem solving methods such as root cause analysis for receiving and/or inventory discrepancies.

- Lead continuous improvement activities in your area of responsibilities.

- Understand and enforce all company policies.

- Create and enforce a safe work environment while enforcing all company safety rules.

- Assures the department personnel are following the Safety guidelines and programs.

- Assures warehouse compliance with ISO program through managers and supervisors.

Knowledge, skills and requirements:

- Must be PC literate.

- Knowledge of using ERP systems and MicroSoft Excel is preferred.

- Must have strong communication skills.

- Must have strong organizational skills.

- Must have strong problem solving skills.

- Must be able to lead change in your area.

- Must be able to lead area independent of constant/immediate supervision.

- Must have 3+ years experience in materials supervision in a fast paced manufacturing environment and have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures.
