About this role

Position Summary :

The Forklift Truck Driver is responsible for operating battery powered lift equipment in a safe and efficient manner, along with handheld scanning devices to manage placement of inventory within a warehouse environment.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:  (Additional duties may be assigned)

80%     Operates a variety of battery powered lift equipment to receive, put away, replenish, and load inventory within a distribution warehouse.

15%     Assist with physical inventory to maintain accuracy of product in warehouse.

5%       Provide routine general maintenance on lift equipment: nightly charging of unit batteries, watering, checking for wear, and requesting service on inoperable equipment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

- High school diploma or GED.

- Forklift License

- 1-3 years Reach truck experience preferred

- 1-3 years Counterbalance fork truck operator experience preferred

- 3-5 years Warehouse Operations experience preferred

Special Requirements:

- Occasional weekend work as required to meet business needs.

- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, dynamic and changing environment with a focus on meeting deadlines.

- Excellent attention to detail.

- Ability to read and interpret paperwork.

- Maintain consistent, dependable attendance

- Basic personal computer skills that include the ability to send/receive email messages, post information to a database or spreadsheet, and perform basic word processing, bookkeeping, and/or data entry

Equipment Used:

Safety Equipment:   Safety shoes, Scanner, Calculator, Photocopier, Telephone, Pallet Jack, Forklift

Computer Software: Microsoft Outlook/Express, Microsoft Word

Physical and Mental Requirements:

- Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, push, pull, crouch, kneel, bend, climb, use fingers to grasp, handle, feel, and perform repetitive motions of hands or wrists.

- Close mental and visual attention to prepare and analyze data and figures, work on a computer, read, or control machines or processes at a rapid pace that requires close coordination and fine adjustment.

Environmental Conditions:

Work is performed in a warehouse environment with exposure to temperature changes and noise.
