About this role
Inpatient RN to work in the 12 bed Center for Comfort Care and Healing, looking for per diem candidates for 7:00PM TO 7:30AM
- responsible for the coordination and management of all patient care and other services for the patient and their family.
- responsible for the quality of care provided by the nursing assistants during their shift.
- support and foster the philosophy and mission of the organization, focusing on the physical, emotional, spiritual and medical/nursing needs of the patient and their family.
- understands the culture of hospice, offering compassionate care to the patient at various stages of their illness.
- work collaboratively with all interdisciplinary team members to insure patient and family needs are met.
- demonstrate clinically competence while delivering care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation.
- effectively interact with patients, families and other health team members while maintaining all standards of professional nursing.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor of Science in nursing preferred, however registered nurses not holding BSN may be considered based on years of acute inpatient experience, including the care and management of hospice and palliative care patients.
- Registered Professional Nurse with active current license in the State of Connecticut
- Two years of recent experience as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting or hospice home care
- HPNA/CHPN certification preferred
