Responsibilities:

- Independently deliver features end-to-end, from design through deployment and monitoring.

- Own and maintain small services or components within the broader microservices architecture.

- Build and enhance REST APIs and backend services in Java with Spring Boot, ensuring reliability, performance, and clean design.

- Develop frontend features using TypeScript with Vue or React frameworks.

- Design and optimize SQL database schemas, queries, and indexes.

- Contribute to event-driven architecture components using SNS/SQS, EventBridge, or Kafka.

- Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.

- Participate actively in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers.

- Collaborate with product, design, and QA to refine requirements and deliver solutions.

- Write comprehensive tests (unit, integration, end-to-end) and maintain test coverage.

- Deploy and monitor services on AWS or Azure, responding to issues as needed.

- Contribute to technical documentation and runbooks.

Qualifications

- Professional experience building production applications in Java with Spring Boot and/or TypeScript.

- Experience developing frontend applications with Vue or React.

- Demonstrated depth in at least one of: backend services (Java/Spring Boot), frontend web (TypeScript/Vue/React), Android device application. development, or embedded Linux.

- SQL database design and query optimization skills.

- Working knowledge of at least one NoSQL database (DynamoDB, MongoDB, Redis, or similar) — understands basic data modeling, indexing, and common use cases.

- Experience developing and maintaining REST APIs.

- Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure cloud services.

- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.

- Proficiency working in agile/Scrum development environments.

- Strong Git workflows and code review practices.

- Solid understanding of software design patterns and principles.

- Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Python experience for scripting, automation, or data processing.

- Experience with event-driven architectures (SNS/SQS, EventBridge, Kafka).

- Familiarity with serverless patterns (AWS Lambda).

- Experience with microservices design patterns and inter-service communication.

- Containerization experience (Docker, ECS/EKS).

- Performance testing and optimization experience.

- Knowledge of web accessibility standards and implementation.

- Experience with infrastructure as code concepts.

- Experience developing Android applications for specialized devices or companion/configuration apps for connected hardware.

- Exposure to Linux userspace development — system services, shell scripting, or application deployment on Ubuntu-based systems.

- Familiarity with app store release processes (Google Play, Apple App Store) for production applications.
