Summary

This position supports all C 17 Training System (TS) configuration and data management activities. The role executes the management of the total program data package and   maintains   the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of all released documentation, including   CAE   generated   materials, database information, vendor software/hardware documentation, Air Force technical publications, and procedural documents. The position   is responsible for   supporting the team that compiles, delivers, and   maintains   all C 17 TS Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), contractor records, and baseline documentation for courseware, hardware, software, and visual databases.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Supports the execution of all configuration and data management activities related to the C 17 TS program.  
•   Assists   in managing the complete program data package, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with contractual and organizational requirements.  
•   Maintains   the integrity of all released documentation, including CAE-generated documents, vendor data, databases, and Air Force   aircraft   and procedural publications.  
• Supports the team responsible for compiling, delivering, and   maintaining   all C 17 TS CDRLs   in accordance with   schedules and contract requirements.  
•   Assists   in the maintenance of contractor-related records, ensuring proper documentation control, storage, and accessibility.  
• Helps   maintain   baseline documentation for C 17 TS courseware, hardware, software, and visual database products.  
• Follows established configuration management processes, version control practices, and documentation standards.  
•   Assists   in tracking updates, modifications, and changes to program documentation and configuration items.  
• Coordinates with engineering, courseware, IT,   logistics , and other teams to ensure documentation updates reflect current system baselines.  
• Supports reviews and audits related to configuration and data management activities.  
•   Identifies   documentation discrepancies and collaborates with the team to implement corrective actions.  
• Ensures   accurate   preparation, formatting, and organization of documentation for delivery and archival.  
• Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives related to documentation control, configuration processes, and data accuracy.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information management, engineering, business, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.  
• 1–3 years of experience in configuration management, data management, document control, or a related technical field.  
• Basic understanding of configuration control principles, documentation management, and revision processes.  
• Ability to review, organize, and   maintain   technical documents with strong attention to detail.  
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with cross   f unctional teams.  
• Ability to work in a structured environment with multiple tasks and deadlines.  
•   Proficiency   with standard office software and document management applications.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with training systems, defense programs, or Air Force technical documentation.  
• Familiarity with CDRLs, configuration management tools, or structured documentation processes.  
• Experience supporting baseline management for hardware, software, courseware, or database products.  
• Ability to read and interpret engineering documents, technical drawings, or system specifications.  
• Experience   participating   in configuration audits or change control processes.

Security Responsibilities

Must   comply with   all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures.  Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval.  All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

- Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Work Environment

• Work is performed in an office or engineering support environment within a training systems facility.  
• Frequent interaction with engineering, courseware, IT,   logistics , and program management teams.  
• Structured environment requiring accuracy, organization, and adherence to documentation processes.  
• Occasional interaction with Air Force representatives or vendors may occur.  
• May require limited travel for document delivery support or program meetings.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while reviewing documents or working on a computer.  
• Ability to walk through simulator areas, technical offices, or storage locations as needed.  
• May occasionally be   required   to lift or move small documentation binders, boxes, or files (typically up to 25   lbs. ).
