About this role

Tesla’s Cell Manufacturing Engineering
group is looking for a highly motivated Project Engineer to lead equipment
design, installation and commissioning projects from concept to execution. The
role requires a highly organized individual that can take complex, ambiguous
requirements into reality to build high-speed manufacturing equipment and
factories.

As a Project Engineer, you will join a
cross-functional project engineering team responsible for the technical
deliverables, schedule, budget, work packages, interface management, project
risk mitigation, equipment design and contractor scopes for all aspects of
engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning.

- This role will develop, scale-up and optimize cell battery
manufacturing equipment.

- Responsible for leading the full design and engineering of
Tesla equipment and factory design from concept to production launch

- Responsible for defining and leading engineering discipline
scopes for internal and external engineering teams, including mechanical,
pneumatics, automation, electrical, structural, civil, etc.

- Develops and interfaces with internal and external engineering
teams, managing 3rd party vendor contracts and budgets

- Responsible for defining, creating, and/or managing engineering
deliverables for multiple engineering disciplines (layout drawings,
technical specifications, risk assessments, P&IDs, PFDs, One-line
diagrams, etc.)

- Leads design reviews and manages cross-functional action items
through to completion

- Responsible for field execution and manages resources at the
site of the projects

- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or
equivalent experience

- Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams within
Architectural/Engineering firms or design-build firms

- Experience leading engineering teams for large brown-field and
green-field manufacturing projects with EPCs firms or in-house design
teams

- Full understanding of all engineering disciplines and ability
to demonstrate skills to manage engineering resources

- Proven record in delivery of IFB, IFP, and IFC packages

- Experience designing manufacturing processes or equipment in
healthcare, laboratory, mission critical, and site infrastructure
development project types

- Excellent communication skills with ability to understand
complex topics/problems and distill the message clearly

- Pre-Construction Project Management experience

- Auto-CAD, Solidworks, Inventor experience

- Revit or Bluebeam 2D drawings experience is a plus
