About this role
In this role:
- Ensure all interfaces are well-architected, documented, and validated - notably, between RF-baseband, baseband-protocol stack (AP), AP to host etc.
- Define component integration plans (from bring-up to advanced functions), then design and execute comprehensive test plans spanning initial hardware bring-up through large-scale operational fleet deployment
- Dig into challenging log reviews and cross-functional system integration mysteries to identify root causes and to propose solutions, balancing long-term goals with near-term operational needs
- Leverage your substantial prior expertise in connectivity software and protocols (cellular modem cross-layers, WiFi MAC/PHY) to provide insights and feedback that can improve the performance and reliability of our systems
- Review (and if necessary, adjust or author) the Software, Firmware, and integration design specifications and requirements on Zoox’s connectivity systems
Qualifications
- M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a similar discipline with 8+ years of experience.
- Expertise in developing 3GPP cellular (4G, 5G-NR) /WiFi /Satellite feature test plans and debugging 4G-LTE / 5G-NR Protocol layers (such as MAC, L1, RF, FW).
- Expertise in LTE/5G Protocol Stacks (NAS, PDCP, RRC, RLC, MAC, PHY)
- Ability to use cellular network analysis tools (e.g., QXDM, Shannon Tools, Wireshark) and develop log frameworks to analyze wireless communication behavior and automate them.
- Hands-on experience configuring/programming wireless test platforms (UXM, CMX500, SMBv100, Spirent) and testing/troubleshooting modem development boards and prototypes.
