The role

The Battery Cell is a critical component in Tesla vehicles and storage systems.

Tesla’s Production Engineering team is at the forefront of designing cutting edge electrode production processes and transferring these into mass production. This team operates and develops highly elaborate production processes for high volume and high-quality requirements.

You will work in the Battery Cell area within the Production Engineering Team, making you a key player in the creation of our Battery Cell. As a Engineering Process Technician (m/f/d), you will become an

expert in the production process and use your expertise to question, optimize, and eliminate processes. You will contribute to achieving the highest efficiency and quality in an exciting and challenging environment and continuously improve the production of an outstanding product. The ideal

- Continuously develop, optimize, and improve manufacturing processes, workflows, and production equipment
- Monitor production processes, ensure process stability and output quality, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis with corrective actions Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and quality teams on process changes, validations, test methods, and improving key metrics (e.g., efficiency, cost-effectiveness, scrap rates)
- Perform equipment setup, operation, adjustments, minor preventative maintenance, and material handling while meeting safety, quality, and efficiency standards
- Conduct testing, inspection, trials, and sampling, document results clearly
- Write and update manufacturing instructions, operating procedures, and control plans in standard formats
- Support Lean Production, 5S activities, workplace safety, cleanliness, organization, and compliance with company guidelines
- Organize daily workflow independently and proactively in cooperation with the team
- Train employees in machine operations, new workflows, and processes
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for safety, quality, output, and uptime, while
escalating issues as needed

- Experience in large-scale automated production and continuous mass production processes (e.g., mixing, calendaring, winding, roll-to roll, robotics), ideally in the battery cell industry (other
industries also welcome)
- Hands-on experience of operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining manufacturing equipment
- Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), process capability
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word)
- Fluent English skills (German is a plus)
- Willingness to work in shifts
- Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational, analytical, and reasoning skills
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, follow written and verbal instructions, and adapt to
frequent changes in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment
- High reliability, sense of responsibility, stress resistance, ability to prioritize and react quickly, and
awareness of the impact of emerging problems
