Labourer

Amentum has an exciting opportunity for a   full time   Labourer   to join their team at the Alice Springs office.

Reporting into the Maintenance Supervisor, this role   will   see you   work in minor construction sites,   operating   hand   and power tools, digging trenches, backfill holes, compacting or removing earth, and mixing,   pouring   and spreading concrete.

You will also support skilled tradespeople such as carpenters, electricians, and plumbers. In landscaping, your responsibilities   will   include lawn care tasks such as mowing, trimming, edging and weed management , as well as undertaking duties and tasks   required .

Work Schedule:   Monday to   Thursday   0730- 1600Hrs   and Friday 0730-1330Hrs   ( 38-hour   week)

Essential   Responsibilities:

- Perform a wide range of tasks to support the organization in its undertaking of the Vesta contract requirements which include but is not limited operating hand and power tools, digging trenches, backfill holes, compacting or removing earth, and mixing, pouring and spreading concrete. You will also support skilled tradespeople such as carpenters, electricians, and plumbers. In landscaping, your responsibilities will include lawn care tasks such as mowing, trimming, edging and weed management, as well as undertaking duties and tasks   required

- Support of trades and other personnel and   assist   in other areas of facilities and maintenance area from time to time, as   required

- Undertake all work in a safe and professional manner ensuring that safety is an integral part of everyday   activities

- Comply with   company safety procedures and r eport and incidents to management as a priority

- Complete   allocated   tasks within required   timeframes   and   maintain   compliance with company procedures

- Use of computer systems to record and plan work tasks

- Other duties as directed by the Vesta Management Team

About You:

- V alid HR Drivers   Licence

- Previous   experience within carpentry electrical or plumbing trades would be highly regarded

- ood   communicatio n skills - verbal and written

- Strong compliance with safety with a proven history in safe work practices

- Ability to work in a team environment

- Ability to work professionally with minimal supervision

- Working at heights (desirable)

- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and successfully complete assigned tasks

- Demonstrated ability to   identify   and analyze issues and develop solutions to problems

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:     W orking in   Alice Springs can be hot and physical work. Typical tasks include but are not limited to   Patching painting walls, housing maintenance repairs, outdoor tap replacements, lawn upgrades, door replacements .
