About this role

At Tesla GIGA Berlin, our dedicated maintenance team oversees a diverse portfolio of industrial equipment, including industrial trucks, heavy machinery, cranes, manipulators, lifts, heavy-duty racks, and automated guided vehicles (AGVs). We manage a substantial rental fleet featuring forklifts, tuggers, reach trucks, and pallet trucks, ensuring seamless operations for various shops like intralogistics, powertrain, battery, cell, etc. Our core responsibilities encompass both preventive and reactive maintenance to maximize technical availability, deliver innovative solutions to complex challenges, minimize downtime, and drive cost efficiency. By prioritizing reliability and performance, we support mission-critical operations across operations, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

The Maintenance Planner plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of intralogistics equipment in GIGA Berlin. This position involves planning and optimizing maintenance activities to minimize downtime, control costs, and support seamless intralogistics operations. The ideal candidate will leverage data-driven strategies to balance preventive and reactive maintenance, manage spare parts inventories, and drive continuous improvement in equipment performance.

- Maintenance Planning & Scheduling: Develop and maintain maintenance schedules for intralogistics equipment, prioritizing tasks based on criticality and operational needs. Coordinate with teams to minimize disruptions.
- Preventive Maintenance (PM): Design and monitor PM strategies to extend equipment lifespan and prevent failures. Optimize PM frequencies using usage data.
- Reactive Maintenance: Triage and resolve maintenance tickets (e.g., FLUX). Investigate breakdowns, implement fixes, and document root causes for prevention.
- Problem Solving: Lead troubleshooting using FMEA, 5-Why, or RCM. Collaborate with engineers to improve system reliability.
- Spare Parts Management: Forecast demand, optimize inventory, and source critical components to reduce downtime.
- KPI Monitoring: Track OEE, MTBF, MTTR, and other metrics. Use CMMS tools (e.g., SAP PM) to generate insights and drive improvements.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to standards (e.g., ISO 55000, OSHA) and conduct risk assessments. Promote a safety-first culture.

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: 2–3 years in maintenance planning, ideally in intralogistics, manufacturing, or warehousing. Familiarity with equipment such as industrial trucks, storage racks, conveyors, AGVs, or industrial shuttles.

- Computer skills required (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, MS Project)

- Able to develop and deliver a clear concise presentation when required
- Technical Skills:  Proficient in CMMS/ERP systems (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo, FLUX).

- Knowledge of preventive/reactive maintenance, spare parts management, and cost analysis tools (e.g., Excel for KPIs like OEE, MTBF).

- Basic understanding of root cause analysis and inventory strategies.

- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

- Ability to prioritize tasks and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment. Occasional on-call availability for urgent issues.
