About this role

Responsibilities

Productivity

- Deploy and effective utilization of manpower and material resources in the department. In addition, liaising with other departments on daily production schedule.

- Assist in Planning of department manpower projections

- Assess and plan weekly manpower deployment and allocation of repair vessel to Sub-contractor.

- Obtain and monitor drawings/ technical information.

- Attend assigned project progress meeting/HAT meeting.

- Assess staff work performance under his charge as required.

- Identify training needs for his men.

- Monitor job progress and man hours of the assigned project. Ensure no delays to project schedule and work within assigned budget.

- Study and evaluate the work processes and methods of the department and explore new ideas to improve work quality and productivity.

- Liaise with owners representative and/or class surveyor during witness/inspection.

- Raising of Sub-Contractor order form.

- Check and monitor of Sub-contractor deployment.

- Raise PR or DRL Out Materials required for the vessel and monitoring of Material usage/availability.

- Assist in reviewing Dept Documentation and Processes.

- Preparation for VSCC meeting

- Highlight areas need to other trades to clear their work (e.g. temporary lightings, staging, closing of access, etc.

- Updates/ highlight any housekeeping and safety issues

- Apply for permit to work if any

Quality

- Evaluate technical/ engineering requirements of the jobs, and reviews drawings.

- Resolve any technical problems or issues with Designer, contractors, class & owner.

- Monitor and ensure quality work is produced at targeted schedule

Safety

- Conduct RA assessment/ BBS observation/ hazard reporting

- Participate in department safety work plan, attend monthly EHS safety community meeting.

- Conduct activities which met regulatory requirements

- Attend VSCC Meetings

Requirements

- Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering

- Preferably 3 – 5 years of working experiences in in marine industry or similar capacity

- No experience may apply

- Knowledge of ship’s electrical system, control system and their classification requirements.

- Able to interpret technical/electrical drawings and specification.

- Knowledge of class requirements

Other Information

- Location: Benoi Road (Island-wide transport provided)

- 5 days work week

- Working Hours: 7.25am-5pm
