About this role

About Oze

Oze is a fast-growing fintech helping small and medium businesses across Africa access the financial tools, insights, and credit they need to grow. We operate across multiple Sub-Saharan markets and are now expanding our collections capability in Ghana.

The role

We're hiring a tenacious, results-driven Collections Agent to join our Ghana team on a contract basis, based in Accra. You'll own the end-to-end recovery of overdue and delinquent loans — working the phones, the field, and everything in between — to protect portfolio health and minimise credit losses.

This is a field-heavy role. You'll spend most of your time visiting borrowers in person across Accra and surrounding areas, and occasionally further afield in Ghana when accounts require it.

This is a performance-driven role — your earnings grow directly with your recovery results.

What you'll do

- Contact and engage delinquent borrowers through phone, SMS, and in-person visits to recover overdue repayments

- Conduct structured field visits to borrower locations across Accra and assigned territories

- Negotiate repayment plans and settlements in line with company policy

- Keep accurate, up-to-date records of every contact, visit, and outcome in our loan management system

- Work with the credit and risk team to prioritise accounts by delinquency bucket and risk level

- Escalate unresolved or high-risk accounts to the Collections Team Lead promptly

- Hit monthly collection targets and recovery rate KPIs

- Represent Oze professionally in every interaction; our reputation in the field matters

What we're looking for

- 1–2+ years of experience in loan collections, field recovery, or credit collections (fintech, microfinance, or banking strongly preferred)

- A proven track record of hitting and exceeding collections targets

- Strong negotiation, persuasion, and conflict resolution skills — you can hold a difficult conversation and still leave the borrower willing to pay

- Fluent English; proficiency in Twi is a strong advantage, and other Ghanaian languages (Ga, Ewe, Hausa) are a plus given Accra's mix

- Deep familiarity with Accra — you know how to navigate the city efficiently

- Self-motivated and resilient; comfortable working independently in the field

- Familiarity with loan management systems or CRM tools is a plus

- Valid ID, willingness to travel within assigned territory, and a smartphone with reliable internet

Why this role

Uncapped performance-based earnings, a clear growth path as we scale collections in Ghana, and the chance to build something real with a team that moves fast and takes ownership seriously.
