JOB SUMMARY

The APP is responsible for providing health care to patients in the hospital or office setting. Works in consultation; cooperation; and coordination through a collaborative physician. Functions according to the established standards and practices of medicine for Advanced Practice Nurse/Nurse Practitioner in the State of Texas.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education

- Masters Degree

Minimum Work Experience

- No previous experience

Required Licenses/Certifications

- NP or PA licensed in the state of Texas
- BLS

Required Skills; Knowledge; and Abilities

- Knowledge of medical practices; terminology; and reimbursement policies
- Thorough knowledge of patient triage; diagnosis; and evidenced-based care
- Knowledge in overcoming barriers from diagnosis to treatment including: financial/economic; language/culture; transportation issues
- Skill in planning; organizing; delegating; and supervising
- Skill in evaluating the effectiveness of existing methods and procedures
- Skill in problem solving
- Skill in verbal and written communication
- Skill in speaking engagements and other activities that raise awareness to diseases and disease processes
- Ability to read; interpret; and apply policies and procedures
- Ability to set priorities among multiple requests
- Ability to interact with patients; medical and administrative staff; and the public effectively
